Shoe Essay - My Life as a Shoe

There I was. On stage. It was my time to shine with my graceful, peaceful moves. Then I opened my eyes- and realized I was daydreaming. I was still in the dance studio- and not about to be doing my “graceful, peaceful” moves.

Oh and if you didn’t know i’m Ballet Slipper Ribbon. Yes that IS in fact my name. I know i know it’s the best. And my initials as you probably already know are BSR. i know i know everyone wants their name to be like mine but guess what. That's not gonna happen.

Back to the scene after the daydream.. OH right we were in the studio. NOT on a stage in front of a trillion people like i wanted to be. Sad face right?? There I was doing Grand Jetés and Pliés. And yes yes i was the best in my Ballet class. All the others were all newbies. Which means they’re new but also not new at some times for some people but just still total newbies.

In a few weeks I would be doing that show on stage in front of a trillion people showing off my beauty and excellence but just something had to get in the way of me. TOE JAM. “nooo whyyyy herrrr. Whyy.”! And it was just a few weeks from the performance. I wasn’t able to do ballet for a week because I stank! I heard that we were going to be doing the NutCracker for our performance. I was siked. But I had to work extra, extra, extra hard. When the toe jam was gone I was finally able to practice that day.

After a few weeks of practicing for the NutCracker everyone was finally ready for the performance. The next day. I came out of the closet and got put on. I was proud of myself. I was going to rock that stage. When i got to the theatre, i saw a trillion people that were waiting in the audience to most likely see ME. my dream was coming true. I was in front of a trillion people showing off my graceful moves. I crushed it. After the play I had so many fans. That's when people started signing me with some sort of writing. Like “I love you” and “you’re the best!”.

From that day on, I was the best performer on the stage. I still had many fans. And they were still toppling up. I loved it and loved it. And from this day I still do. You have to believe in yourself sometimes extra hard. And you’ll succeed. Not saying you’ll be any better than i am, but you’ll be good.
